COMMITTAL WEDNESDAY 29TH SEPT

Today the papers did not bother to print a thing. Today Ms Bowman was thoroughly cross examined.

I once read a comment which said.............
The media leave out relevant facts in articles which clarifies the situation. They only use selected bits of information to sensationalise the story just to sell newspapers. Like the saying goes, "You don't let the facts get in the way of a good story".

Tomorrow Ms Bowman will be again cross examined, i wonder IF and WHAT the papers will print.

Links to cases where people have been wrongfully accused and most did many years jail. Most people believe a person is guilty because they are charged for that crime, because of what they read in papers, because the law says it has its evidence etc etc. Below are links related to some stories about how anyone can end up in jail and persecuted and then found to be innocent. Some cases it was astounding as to how a person was ever charged in the first place.
Of course im not saying that all people are innocent of what they are accused of, but some think that just because you are charged, you must be guilty.

  1. Hi, may I first congratulate you on this blog. I have been following this case through the media since those awful crimes occured in 2003.

I am also a sceptic when it comes to all forms of media and the information it releases. Unfortunately, the public is rarely told the truth in its entirety.

I have enjoyed your blogs and hope you are telling the truth about what you see and hear in the courtroom. This is a tragic although fascinating case.

I found it very unusual The Courier Mail did not run it's usual daily story on this hearing today. I was very interested to hear what Ms Bowman had to say under cross examination, considering her statements that I have read the last few days.

Anyways I'm sure people would appreciate you blogging about whats being said in the courtroom. Keep up the good work...Peace..

  2. Dear Blog Writer:

I would love to know your connection or relationship with Max Sica to explain your strong bias in this matter. Or how it is that you apparently have endless days to attend the committal hearing which is going on and on.

The case against Max Sica appears to be circumstantial, not exactly rock solid. However, the very function of a committal hearing is to determine if there is sufficient evidence that could lead to a properly instructed jury to convict.

Let the committal run its course.

  3. This is easy to answer....The committal is a farce, as if you were well informed Lindy chaimberlin had 3 or 4, all of them the judge had said,"no case to answer". But they, the DPP, pushed ahead, and after all the years and heart break they caused, she was proven innocent. Also as was, Graham Stafford. If the govt wants to pursue someone and they are found innocent, the state should, 1: give that person the resources to defend themselves. This should be on equal footing with the DPP. As for this case, the state has invested over $20million dollars yet sited cost as the factor it did not send all 6 fingerprints that were found right near the body to be matched with known criminals. I ask why ???? 2: when they lose a case, and worse... hold an innocent person in jail, destroying their lives. They should without fail pay all cost and losses plus $5million dollars for every year or part thereof in compensation. Instead the state hides behind a shield which says it cannot be held accountable. so in short a committal which is somewhat benificial as in this case, which even the judge agreed with a comment made by Max Sica`s lawyer (i have an innocent person languishing in jail) read the court transcripts, and of everything the DPP has put up, NOT ONE, NOT ONE THING POINTS TO MR SICA, but more and more the family`s illegal and immoral dealings. I welcome all sides but expect people to do a bit of research and come in and hear the truth before they make off the cuff comments ..As for innocent till proven guilty...... there is no such thing in this and many countries. It`s a nice sentence only, with no truth behind it. for Mr Sica stayed and begged for his day in court yet they now lock him up where he cannot even assist in his own defence. Yet we critisize third world countries for their lack of protection and human rights violations. What a joke. I do not blame the general public for their opionions, for only someone that has been through the legal system can honestly know what a joke it truly is. Some of the police (that the judge even has stated) would seem have committed perjury, and yet, still have not been charged. It would open the floodgates on every case they have been involved in.......so what if it cost the state another $100 million, that must surely be the price they, or better we, should pay for the govt not keeping its finger on the pulse ...
